Karwa Chauth 2025 falls on October 10. Married Hindu women observe a day-long nirjala (waterless) fast from sunrise to moonrise for the longevity and well-being of their husbands. The fast is broken after sighting the moon through a sieve.

Significance

The festival is rooted in the legend of Queen Veervati and celebrates the devotion and love between married couples. It is widely popular in North India, especially Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and UP.
