Shukla Pradosh Vrat in April 2025 falls on Thursday, April 10, 2025 (Chaitra month, Shukla Trayodashi). Pradosh Kaal — the twilight period between sunset and nightfall — is the most auspicious time to worship Lord Shiva.

Significance

During Pradosh Kaal, Lord Shiva is in his most benevolent mood. Worshipping him during this 2.5-hour twilight window destroys sins, fulfills wishes, and grants moksha. Observing all 24 Pradosh Vrats in a year brings immense spiritual merit.

Rituals & Traditions

  • Fasting during the day and performing puja at Pradosh Kaal (twilight)
  • Abhishekam of Shiva Lingam with milk, water, honey, and curd
  • Chanting Om Namah Shivaya 108 or 1008 times
  • Reciting Pradosh Vrat Katha and Shiva Stotras (Rudrashtakam, Shiv Tandav)
  • Breaking fast after the evening puja with sattvic food
